Who’s that one person who gets under your skin? Maybe you’ve got a list. We all do. That friend who betrayed you. The coworker who took the credit. The ex who left you broken. The family member who never said sorry.

Jesus says, “Love your enemies.” Not just tolerate them. Not just avoid them. Love them. Seriously?

That feels impossible. But Jesus doesn’t just raise the bar, He gives us a new lens. He helps us relearn what love is and redefine who our enemies are. Sometimes they’re not evil. Sometimes they’re just hurting. Sometimes they’re misunderstood. And sometimes, they’re just like us.

Jesus teaches us that love isn’t about who deserves it. It’s about reflecting the heart of our Father in heaven. God doesn’t send rain just to the righteous. He doesn’t shine the sun only on those who got it right. He’s generous with grace and He calls us to do the same.

At Catalyst, we believe change starts with us. When we learn to love the people we’d rather avoid, we become more like Jesus. When Catalyst gets better, the world around us gets better too.

This week, let’s make it practical. Pray for the person who hurts you... even if it’s just for 60 seconds. Bless them with a kind word, a small gift, or even just silence instead of a sharp comeback. Ask God to help you see them not as bad, but as broken. And remember, loving difficult people might not change them - but it will always change you.

Because we don’t love based on what people deserve.
We love because Jesus loved us first.
